First Short Since October

She wanted to be honest. Come clean. She meant to right from the very beginning. Yet each time before this, there was always something or someone stopping her from speaking her mind. This time. This time she was going to do it for real. She already had a new blank document staring back at her. In a matter of minutes, her fingers would translate her deepest thoughts into the small black fonts she always chose for all her letters to her lover.

 

Dear Kate,

 

No. That didn’t sound right. That was too formal. She hit the backspace key.

 

Hey babe,

 

Wait. That wasn’t right either. It was a way too bubbly and insensitive start to a very serious letter. She hit the backspace key again.

 

“Gosh. This is going to be harder than I imagined,” she sighed.

This was just a brain burp while I was in the train. It’s rubbish but I’m so happy I wrote something new. I’ve been feeling so clogged up.
